Introduction
Oxydex Syrup may be taken with or without food. Take it regularly and at the same time each day to get the maximum benefits. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to the doctor. You should avoid smoking and alcohol uptake while you are under treatment.
Directions for Use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Oxydex Syrup may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How it works
Oxydex Syrup is a combination of three medicines : Acebrophylline, Terbutaline, and Menthol. Acebrophylline is a mucolytic and bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles of the airways and also thins and loosens mucus making it easier to breathe. Terbutaline is a bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens airways. This makes breathing easier. Menthol is an organic compound which produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation.

You have been prescribed Oxydex Syrup for prevention and treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Always keep a fast-acting (rescue) inhaler with you. Do not smoke. Smoking causes irritation and damage to the lungs and will make your condition worse. If at any time your breathing gets worse please contact your doctor or nurse for advice straightaway. Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor even if you feel better.
