Ovastim LZ 5mg Tablet is an aromatase inhibitor. It is typically used to treat hormone-sensitive breast cancer in women who no longer have periods, due to menopause or post-surgery/chemotherapy.
Ovastim LZ 5mg Tablet is also known as an anti-estrogen drug. It works by reducing estrogen production in your body through the blocking of aromatase, an enzyme responsible for producing estrogen. Estrogen can promote the growth of certain types of breast cancer, called "estrogen-dependent cancers". By lowering estrogen levels, Ovastim LZ 5mg Tablet may help prevent cancer cells from growing and spreading.
If the breast tumor is in an advanced stage or has spread to other parts of the body, continuous treatment with Ovastim LZ 5mg Tablet may be necessary until significant tumor regression occurs. When given after tamoxifen (another anti-estrogen used for breast cancer) or surgery, it should be continued for 5 years or until a tumor recurrence occurs, whichever comes first. It can also be utilized as a sequential treatment: 2 years of Ovastim LZ 5mg Tablet followed by 3 years of tamoxifen.
Yes, you can combine irbesartan and Ovastim LZ 5mg Tablet. However, be cautious and monitor your blood pressure regularly as Ovastim LZ 5mg Tablet may increase it. If you have difficulty managing your blood pressure, consult your doctor.

This could be related to hot flushes, a common side effect of Ovastim LZ 5mg Tablet due to decreased estrogen levels. The frequency of these flushes may reduce after body adaptation to treatment. However, in some individuals, sweats and hot flushes might persist during treatment and subside a few months after it ends. Consult your doctor if the side effects are bothering you.
Serious side effects, not everyone experiences them, are very rare and include stroke, angina, heart attack, blood clotting, cataract, osteoporosis, and severe skin reactions.
Ovastim LZ 5mg Tablet may contribute to thinning or weakening of your bones (osteoporosis), due to reduced estrogen levels in the body. Your doctor will likely measure your bone density (a method for monitoring osteoporosis) before, during, and after treatment.
