Introduction
Ormol-D Tablet is taken without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early, your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by, this medicine. The most common side effect is dryness in the mouth. This is temporary and usually resolves with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about these side effects. Migraine attacks can be managed by identifying migraine-causing triggers such as red wine, caffeine withdrawal, stress, and skipped meals. You can identify personal triggers by maintaining a diary of what you are doing, what you are eating, and any stressful activity that happened before a migraine attack. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. You should also inform your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you.
Directions for Use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Ormol-D Tablet is to be taken on an empty stomach.
How it works
Ormol-D Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Domperidone and Paracetamol. Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. This prevents nausea and vomiting caused due to migraine. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever associated with migraine.
Quick Tips
Ormol-D Tablet helps to ease the pain you feel during a migraine headache as well as helps to stop you from feeling sick. Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake, and sugarless candy may help. Inform your doctor if you are taking any pain relief medicine. Ormol-D Tablet can only decrease the number and severity of attacks but may not completely stop them. Some tips that may help avoid a migraine attack: Have your meals at the same time every day, avoid bright lights and extreme temperatures, avoid loud music and noisy places, avoid chocolates, cheese, processed food, alcohol, and smoking. Get sufficient sleep and avoid stress.
