Onfos 2mg Oral Suspension is a medicine given to children to help treat nausea and vomiting, mainly associated with surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and stomach/intestinal infection.
Oral Suspension
Onfos 2mg Oral Suspension may be given before or after meals. To control vomiting caused due to chemotherapy, give this medicine to your child 30 minutes before the procedure. Give it 1 to 2 hours before a radiotherapy session and 1 hour before surgery to prevent your child from vomiting post these procedures. If your child expels out the medicine within 30 minutes of the intake, help your child calm down and repeat the dose. Do not double the dose if it is already time for the next dose. Onfos 2mg Oral Suspension may cause some temporary side effects such as headache, constipation, diarrhea, and fatigue. These side effects usually subside once your child's body adapts to the medicine. In case these side effects persist or become bothersome, do reach out to the doctor on a priority basis.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Onfos 2mg Oral Suspension may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Onfos 2mg Oral Suspension effectively controls nausea and bouts of vomiting reflex in children undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy sessions. It is fast-acting and starts working within 30 minutes. Practice self-care measures: Give plenty of fluids to your child to avoid dehydration, Avoid giving fried and spicy food or heavy meals to your child, Ensure that your child eats slowly and in small proportions.
Onfos 2mg Oral Suspension is generally administered before major surgical procedures or chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions. Your child's doctor may prescribe it to prevent vomiting after such procedures. In addition, it can be beneficial in treating vomiting caused by stomach-related illnesses. If prescribed, your child should receive Onfos 2mg Oral Suspension for a few days until the condition improves.
While accidental overdose is uncommon, it's crucial to inform your child's doctor immediately. Overdose can lead to serious side effects like excessive drowsiness, agitation, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, flushing, dilated pupils, sweating, involuntary muscle jerks, uncontrolled eye movements, overactive reflexes, and seizures. This constellation of symptoms is termed serotonin syndrome. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe any of these symptoms.
Onfos 2mg Oral Suspension should be stored at room temperature in a dry, dark location away from direct sunlight or heat. Make sure the medication is kept out of reach and sight of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
It's generally advised not to administer Onfos 2mg Oral Suspension with antidepressant medications, apomorphine, anti-migraine medication, painkillers, heart medications, or antibiotics like linezolid. Please discuss your child’s complete medical history with their doctor to determine the appropriate course of action.
Call your child's doctor immediately if they experience symptoms like irregular heartbeat, green-colored vomit, difficulty passing gas, pale skin and eyes, dark urine, restlessness, or insomnia. These signs may indicate a serotonin syndrome.
Combining Onfos 2mg Oral Suspension with migraine medications or antidepressants should be avoided as they can lead to serotonin syndrome. It's essential to consult your child's doctor before giving them any additional medication.
