Introduction
Ondosafe Oral Solution may be given before or after meals. To control vomiting caused due to chemotherapy, give this medicine to your child 30 minutes before the procedure. How it works
During radiotherapy, chemotherapy, abdominal infection, or any major surgeries, the dead cells in the body start releasing a chemical called serotonin directly into the blood. Later, this stimulates special centers in the body that are responsible for inducing vomiting in your child. Giving Ondosafe Oral Solution just before the procedure helps block the effect of this chemical on vomiting centers of the brain and prevents vomiting.

Frequently asked questions
What is Ondosafe Oral Solution used for?
Ondosafe Oral Solution is generally administered before major surgery or chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In such cases, a healthcare professional may advise its use to prevent vomiting after the procedure. It can also be beneficial in treating vomiting caused by stomach-related illnesses. Your child's doctor will determine if Ondosafe Oral Solution is necessary for these situations based on their specific condition.
What if my child takes too much Ondosafe Oral Solution?
While accidental overdosing of Ondosafe Oral Solution is uncommon, it can still be harmful. It's essential to immediately contact your child's doctor in such situations. If a larger dose than prescribed occurs, potential side effects might include excessive sleepiness, agitation, rapid heartbeat, hypertension, flushing, dilated pupils, sweating, involuntary muscle jerks, uncontrolled eye movements, overactive reflexes, and seizures. This collective group of symptoms is known as serotonin syndrome. Seek immediate medical attention if any of these side effects occur.
How should Ondosafe Oral Solution be stored?
Ondosafe Oral Solution should be stored at room temperature in a dry, dark place away from direct sunlight or heat sources. It's crucial to keep all medicines out of reach and sight of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
What all medicines should my child avoid while taking Ondosafe Oral Solution?
It is generally advised not to combine Ondosafe Oral Solution with antidepressant medications, apomorphine, anti-migraine medications, painkillers, heart medicines, and antibiotics like linezolid. Before giving any medication to your child, consult their doctor to ensure safety and appropriate treatment.
In what conditions do I need to call my child’s doctor right away?
Contact your child's doctor immediately if they develop symptoms of serotonin syndrome, such as irregular heartbeat, green-colored vomiting, inability to pass gas or stool, pale skin and eyes, dark-colored urine, restlessness, and insomnia.
My child is having a migraine and is on medication. Can I give Ondosafe Oral Solution along with it?
The use of Ondosafe Oral Solution alongside medicines for depression or migraine should be avoided due to the potential for serotonin syndrome. It's best to consult your child's doctor before administering any medication.
