Codeine Dextropropoxyphene Nalbuphine Pentazocine
During radiotherapy, chemotherapy, abdominal infection, or any major surgeries, the dead cells in the body start releasing a chemical called serotonin directly into the blood. Later, this stimulates special centers in the body that are responsible for inducing vomiting in your child. Giving Ondacip Syrup just before the procedure helps block the effect of this chemical on vomiting centers of the brain and prevents vomiting.
Ondacip Syrup effectively controls nausea and bouts of vomiting reflex in children undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy sessions. It is fast-acting and starts working within 30 minutes. Practice self-care measures: Give plenty of fluids to your child to avoid dehydration, avoid giving fried and spicy food or heavy meals to your child, and ensure that your child eats slowly and in small proportions.
Ondacip Syrup is prescribed before major surgeries, such as those involving anesthesia, or before chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions. It helps prevent vomiting associated with these procedures. Additionally, it's helpful in treating stomach-related vomiting. When used for longer periods, a doctor may prescribe Ondacip Syrup to address the underlying condition.
In case of accidental overdose, Ondacip Syrup is not likely to cause significant harm. However, immediately contact your child's doctor to ensure proper evaluation and management. Overdose can lead to serious side effects like excessive sleepiness, agitation, rapid heartbeat, hypertension, flushing, dilated pupils, sweating, involuntary muscle jerks, uncontrolled eye movements, overactive reflexes, and seizures. These symptoms collectively indicate serotonin syndrome, and prompt consultation with the doctor is crucial.
Ondacip Syrup should be stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. It's essential to store it in a dry place out of reach and sight of children to prevent accidental consumption.
Combining Ondacip Syrup with other medications may lead to interactions. It's important to inform your child’s doctor about all medications they are currently taking before starting Ondacip Syrup. Always seek guidance from the doctor before administering any additional medication to your child.
If your child experiences symptoms of serotonin syndrome, such as irregular heartbeat, green-colored vomiting, inability to pass gas, pale skin and eyes, dark-colored urine, restlessness, or insomnia, seek immediate medical attention. Call your child's doctor immediately.
It is advisable not to combine Ondacip Syrup with medicines meant for treating depression or migraine, as they can lead to serotonin syndrome. Always consult your child's doctor before administering any other medications.
