It may cause vitamin B12 and vitamin C deficiency. This is due to decreased stomach acid secretion caused by the medication; you may need B12 supplements along with it. The clinical significance of vitamin C levels decrease remains unknown, therefore Vitamin C supplementation is not recommended.
