Avoid excessive intake of carbonated beverages/soft drinks citrus juices fried food caffeinated beverages like tea and coffee. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Avoid eating late at night or before bedtime. Inform your doctor if you get watery diarrhea, fever or stomach pain that does not go away. Inform your doctor if you do not feel better after taking it for 14 days as you may be suffering from some other problem that needs attention. Long-term use of Ompicid 20mg Capsule can cause weak bones and a deficiency of minerals such as magnesium. Take adequate dietary intake of calcium and magnesium or their supplements as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking medication without talking to your doctor. Consult your doctor right away if you develop decreased urination, edema (swelling due to fluid retention), lower back pain, nausea, fatigue, and rash or fever. These could be signs of a kidney problem.

Inform your doctor about any liver problems, persistent diarrhea or vomiting, black stools (blood-stained stools), unusual weight loss, trouble swallowing, stomach pain or indigestion. Tell your doctor about all other medications you're taking as they may interact with Ompicid 20mg Capsule. Also inform your doctor about any allergic skin reactions to this medicine. It should not be given to children under 1 year of age or weighing less than 10 kgs.

Inform your doctor if you have osteoporosis or are taking corticosteroids (these can increase the risk of osteoporosis). Consult your doctor for ways to prevent this. They may advise you on calcium or vitamin D supplements to reduce the risk.
What are the long-term side effects of Ompicid 20mg Capsule?
If used for more than 3 months, some long-term side effects may appear. These include low magnesium levels (which can cause fatigue, confusion, dizziness, shakiness) and muscle twitches or irregular heartbeats. If the use continues for over a year, there is an increased risk of bone fractures (due to decreased calcium in the blood), especially hip, wrist, or spine fractures. Vitamin B12 deficiency may also develop, leading to anemia (feeling tired, weak, pale). Additionally, you might experience palpitations, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, indigestion, loss of appetite, flatulence (gas) and nerve problems like numbness, tingling, and walking problems.

It can lead to vitamin B12 deficiency and vitamin C deficiency when taken orally as it decreases gastric acid secretion for absorption. You may need to take vitamin B12 supplements alongside this medication. The clinical significance of decreased vitamin C levels is not known, so vitamin C supplementation is not recommended.
