Omnix CV Tablet is a prescription medicine. It is advised to take it as per the prescription. It can be taken with or without food but it must be taken at a fixed time to ensure better efficacy. Do not consume more than the recommended dose as this may have harmful effects on your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. The course of the treatment must be completed even if you feel better. Sudden discontinuation of the treatment may affect the potency of the medicine.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Omnix CV Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Omnix CV Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Cefixime and Clavulanic Acid. Cefixime is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefixime against bacteria.
Take it with food and plenty of fluids to avoid an upset stomach. Finish the prescribed course even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat. Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Taking probiotics along with Omnix CV Tablet may help. Talk to your doctor if you notice bloody stools or develop abdominal cramps. Stop taking Omnix CV Tablet and inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking it.
Take this medication by mouth, with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once a day. If you are consuming chewable tablets, chew thoroughly and then swallow. Complete the full course of treatment, even if symptoms disappear after a few days.
Use Omnix CV Tablet with particular care in patients with severely impaired renal function. Dose modification is advised for those with moderate or severe renal impairment.
Adjust the dose of Omnix CV Tablet in patients with kidney impairment and for those who have gastrointestinal disease or colitis.
Serious side effects may include severe stomach/abdominal pain, persistent nausea/vomiting, unusual tiredness, new signs of infection (e.g., persistent sore throat, fever), yellowing of eyes/skin, dark urine, easy bruising/bleeding, signs of kidney problems (such as change in the amount of urine) and mental/mood changes (such as confusion).
