Introduction

Olypac Plus Tablet is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of bipolar depression. It works by increasing the level of chemical messengers in the brain which improves mood and physical symptoms of depression. The medicine may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Some common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, dry mouth, muscle rigidity, restlessness, tremor, delayed ejaculation, anorgasmia (decreased orgasm), and low sexual desire. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Inform your doctor if you are suffering from thyroid or kidney disease, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, glaucoma, or any heart disease. Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine as it may worsen certain side effects. Olypac Plus Tablet can also lead to weight gain, so eat a healthy balanced diet, avoid snacking with high-calorie food, and exercise regularly. Consult your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood or behavior, new or worsening depression, or suicidal thoughts or behavior.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Olypac Plus Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Alcohol Warning

Avoid alcohol while taking Olypac Plus Tablet as it may worsen certain side effects.

Olypac Plus Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Fluoxetine and Olanzapine. They work by increasing the activity of certain chemicals called serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine in the brain. These chemicals help relieve the symptoms of bipolar depression.

You have been prescribed Olypac Plus Tablet for the treatment of bipolar disorder with depression. Take it in the evening as it can make you feel sleepy. It may take 4 to 6 weeks to experience the full benefits of the medication. Don't drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. It may cause an increase in weight, blood sugar, cholesterol, and triglycerides (fat). Eat healthy and exercise regularly. Talk to your doctor if you notice sudden mood changes or develop suicidal thoughts.
