Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Olmesar Plus 20 Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Olmesar Plus 20 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Olmesartan Medoxomil and Azelnidipine. Olmesartan Medoxomil is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It relaxes blood vessels by blocking the action of a chemical that usually makes blood vessels tighter. This lowers the blood pressure allowing the blood to flow more smoothly to different organs and the heart to pump more efficiently. Azelnidipine is a calcium channel blocker. It regulates the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and reducing the pressure on them thereby making it easier for the heart to pump more blood throughout the body.
Olmesar Plus 20 Tablet is prescribed to reduce high blood pressure and the risk of future heart attack and stroke. Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down for a long time. Monitor your blood pressure regularly after starting treatment with Olmesar Plus 20 Tablet and notify your doctor if it does not lower down. Avoid taking anti-inflammatory medicines such as Ibuprofen along with this medicine without consulting your doctor. Lifestyle changes like a low-sodium diet, exercise, and not smoking may help this medication work better.
