Olimelt 2.5 Tablet MD works well in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It is less likely to cause heart and movement problems as compared to other similar medicines. It may take 4 to 6 weeks to see full effects on thoughts and mood. Keep taking it as prescribed. Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Olimelt 2.5 Tablet MD can cause dizziness and sleepiness. It may increase your weight, blood sugar, and cholesterol. Eat healthy, exercise regularly, and monitor your blood levels regularly.
Olimelt 2.5 Tablet MD is not approved for the treatment of anxiety. While some studies have explored its potential in managing anxiety disorders, conclusive results are still under investigation. It can be considered alongside anxiolytic medications for potentially greater effectiveness in treating anxiety disorders.
No, Olimelt 2.5 Tablet MD is not a sleeping pill. It belongs to the atypical antipsychotic class of medications and is primarily used for treating schizophrenia. Schizophrenia causes disturbed or unusual thinking, loss of interest in life, and strong or inappropriate emotions.
Olimelt 2.5 Tablet MD may start showing initial improvements within one to two weeks of starting treatment. However, full benefits may not be realized until about four to six weeks. Olimelt 2.5 Tablet MD can cause serious side effects, including increased risk of death in elderly individuals who are confused, have memory loss and experience a disconnect from reality (dementia-related psychosis). It also raises the risk of blood sugar levels rising in people with diabetes and those without a history of diabetes. Moreover, it may trigger weight gain and elevated fat levels in the blood, which is more common in teenagers.
Olimelt 2.5 Tablet MD should not be taken during pregnancy unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Using it in the last three months of pregnancy can potentially cause unwanted symptoms in the unborn baby, including shaking, muscle stiffness and/or weakness, sleepiness, agitation, breathing problems, and difficulty feeding.
You should not abruptly discontinue Olimelt 2.5 Tablet MD without consulting your doctor. Stopping treatment suddenly can lead to unpleasant side effects like sweating, difficulty sleeping, tremor, anxiety, or nausea and vomiting. Your doctor will gradually reduce the dose before discontinuing treatment to minimize these potential adverse effects.
Smoking can increase the metabolism of Olimelt 2.5 Tablet MD, reducing its overall effectiveness. Alcohol consumption should be avoided when taking Olimelt 2.5 Tablet MD as it may increase drowsiness. If you are a smoker, your doctor might adjust your dose depending on your response to treatment.
