Oral Suspension
Olife-M Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine that is effective against a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections. In children, it is used to treat infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Olife-M Oral Suspension is an antibiotic having ofloxacin and metronidazole as its active ingredients. Both these medicines damage the DNA of the infection-causing bacteria, thus killing it by stopping its growth. This prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
If your child develops diarrhea as a side effect, encourage them to drink plenty of water. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help if Olife-M Oral Suspension causes an altered taste. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Olife-M Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Discontinue Olife-M Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.
While excess Olife-M Oral Suspension may not cause side effects, consult a doctor immediately. If you believe your child has received more than the recommended dose, contact their doctor promptly to ensure appropriate management and minimize potential risks.
If your child does not experience improvement despite completing the entire treatment course of Olife-M Oral Suspension, it may indicate that the medication is ineffective against the infection-causing bacteria. In such instances, consult with their doctor who may suggest additional antibiotic options tailored to combat the specific bacteria causing the infection.
Olife-M Oral Suspension might interact with certain other medications or substances. Always inform your doctor about all medications and supplements your child is taking before starting Olife-M Oral Suspension to prevent potential interactions.
Generally, antibiotics do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause adverse reactions. However, children receiving antibiotics should delay vaccination until they have recovered from the illness. Once your child feels better, you can administer a vaccine as per standard protocols.
Before administering Olife-M Oral Suspension, inform the doctor if your child has any pre-existing health conditions such as heart disease, genetic disorders affecting blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy (sunlight sensitivity), neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. This is crucial to prevent potential complications.
Yes, the appearance of red-brown urine in your child is a common side effect of Olife-M Oral Suspension due to its active ingredient metronidazole. This harmless effect will subside once the medication is stopped at the end of treatment.
No, do not mix Olife-M Oral Suspension with cough and cold medications as this might interfere with their effectiveness.
