Olibenda 200mg Oral Suspension is a medication used to treat parasitic worm infections in children.
Oral Suspension
Olibenda 200mg Oral Suspension is effective against a range of parasitic worm infections in children. It restrains the worms from absorbing the body's essential nutrients, causing them to lose their energy and leading to their eventual death. The dead worms are then removed from your child's body through the stool.
Give this medicine to your child with a fat-containing food such as milk as it enables better absorption in the body. Follow the prescribed dosage strictly. In case your child is prescribed to take this medicine for a few days, make sure to complete the dosage as stopping abruptly may lead to re-infection.
Worms enter inside your child's body when your child eats or drinks something that's infected with a worm or its eggs. Once inside the body, these worms get attached to the inner walls of the intestines and can even enter other body organs. Olibenda 200mg Oral Suspension works by keeping the worms from absorbing sugar (glucose), thereby depleting their energy level. This causes the worms to die, thereby treating your child's infection.

Your doctor may recommend treatment for all family members on the same day, whether or not they have any symptoms of infection. Some self-care measures: do not give raw or undercooked food to your child, encourage your child to wash their hands with soap and water every time they use the toilet, trim your child's nails frequently, maintain a neat space and hygiene around your child, and inform the doctor in case your child exhibits signs of allergic reaction or infection.
Signs of a worm infection in children might include persistent anal itching, difficulty sitting down, fatigue, restless sleep due to anal itching or stomach pain accompanied by loss of appetite or frequent indigestion. If your child shows these symptoms, it is advisable to consult their doctor immediately. A stool and blood sample may be collected three times for examination at the doctor's discretion. This will help determine the best treatment options. Depending on the findings, the doctor will prescribe the appropriate medication.
Intestinal worm infections in children are often caused by exposure to contaminated fecal matter. This contamination can occur through poor sanitation practices and comes from contact with unwashed hands or surfaces. Transmission of intestinal worms can also occur via ingestion of contaminated food, particularly water that may contain parasitic eggs. It is crucial to maintain personal hygiene practices like washing hands thoroughly after using the bathroom, before eating, and after playing outdoors.
Deworming refers to the process of killing and removing intestinal worms from a child's body. Olibenda 200mg Oral Suspension is commonly used for this purpose in children. It effectively eliminates parasitic worms.
You can provide your child with pain-relieving or fever-reducing medications unless otherwise instructed by their doctor. However, certain medication combinations should be avoided to minimize potential side effects. Consult your child's doctor to determine the appropriate course of action regarding additional medications.
Olibenda 200mg Oral Suspension can be administered at any point in the day, but it's recommended that it be given with a fat-containing food such as milk.
Olibenda 200mg Oral Suspension is contraindicated in children with known allergies to albendazole or any other similar medications, including mebendazole or thiabendazole. Signs of allergic reactions can include skin rashes, shortness of breath, and swelling of the face or tongue. It's essential for the doctor to be informed about all your child's medical history before administering this medication.
