Key Information

Short Description

Ofryth MZS 50mg/120mg/10mg Syrup is a combination antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial infections in children. It is given orally, preferably at a fixed time, and may be taken with or without food.

Dosage Form

Syrup

Introduction

Ofryth MZS 50mg/120mg/10mg Syrup is a combination of three active ingredients: ofloxacin, metronidazole, and simethicone. It is used to treat bacterial infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract in children. The antibiotic ingredients interfere with the genetic material of bacteria, killing the infection-causing bacteria and preventing its growth and stopping the infection. Simethicone binds with gas bubbles produced as a result of the other two ingredients or as a result of some other problem, aiding in the removal of gases and providing relief in stomach pain and bloating.

How it works

Ofryth MZS 50mg/120mg/10mg Syrup is a combination of three active ingredients. While two of its ingredients, namely ofloxacin and metronidazole, are antibiotics, simethicone is a gas-absorbing agent that improves gastric tolerability of the combination. The antibiotic ingredients interfere with the genetic material of bacteria by impairing its DNA. This kills the infection-causing bacteria, preventing its growth and stopping the infection. On the other hand, Simethicone binds with the gas bubbles produced as a result of the other two ingredients or as a result of some other problem. By doing so, it aids in the removal of gases and provides relief in stomach pain and bloating.
