Ofrivid-DX Eye/Ear Drops is to be used as per the label instructions or as suggested by your doctor. This medicine must be applied only to the affected eye or ear. Use it regularly to get the most benefit. The course of the medicine should be completed even if you feel better. You must wash your hands before administering the medicine. Do not use it more than the recommended dose. The most common side effects of it are eye/ear irritation, eye/ear discomfort, and burning sensation. These are usually mild and short-lived. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects persist or worry you. However, if you experience any allergic reaction (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.), you must seek immediate medical help. Before using it, tell your doctor if you have an underlying disease or are taking medicines for any health condition. The medicines that are used externally usually do not get affected by other medicines; however, you should let your doctor know if you are taking any medicines to ensure safety. Ask your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye/ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid or ear. Wipe off extra liquid.

Ofrivid-DX Eye/Ear Drops is a combination of three medicines: Ofloxacin, Dexamethasone, and Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Dexamethasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye/ear red, swollen, and itchy. Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a lubricating formulation which moistens the eyes/ears.
You have been prescribed Ofrivid-DX Eye/Ear Drops for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye/ear. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Do not touch the tip to any surface or to your eye/ear to avoid contamination. Talk to your doctor if your symptoms have not started to improve within two days of starting treatment, if they get worse during treatment, or if you get another eye/ear infection. If using Ofrivid-DX Eye/Ear Drops for an eye: Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution. Do not wear contact lenses while using this medication. It may cause short-term blurring of vision when first used. Use caution before driving or using machines.
