Safety Information
Side Effects
Diarrhea is a common side effect of this medicine. If it occurs, make sure your child drinks plenty of water.
How it works
Ofric MS Oral Suspension is a combination of three active ingredients. The antibiotic ingredients interfere with the genetic material of bacteria by impairing its DNA, killing the infection-causing bacteria and preventing its growth and stopping the infection. Simethicone binds with the gas bubbles produced as a result of the other two ingredients or as a result of some other problem, aiding in the removal of gases and providing relief in stomach pain and bloating.
Quick Tips
Diarrhea is a common side effect of this medicine. If it occurs, make sure your child drinks plenty of water. Your child may have an altered taste or furry tongue (coating of Ofric MS Oral Suspension on tongue) after taking Ofric MS Oral Suspension. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Ofric MS Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Never use this medicine for the common cold and flu as they are caused by viruses and Ofric MS Oral Suspension treats only bacterial infections. Can I give Ofric MS Oral Suspension with cough and cold medicines?
No, do not administer Ofric MS Oral Suspension with cough and cold medications. The active ingredient in Ofric MS Oral Suspension can interact with alcohol-containing medications like cough syrups, leading to disulfiram reactions causing nausea, vomiting, flushing, dizziness, etc.
What if I accidentally give my child an overdose of Ofric MS Oral Suspension?
An extra dose of Ofric MS Oral Suspension is unlikely to cause harm. However, if you suspect that your child has taken too much, consult a doctor immediately. Overdose may lead to side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headaches, sudden weakness, blood cell abnormalities, and rapid irregular heartbeat.
Why might my child show no improvement after taking Ofric MS Oral Suspension for the prescribed duration?

Can my child get vaccinated while on treatment with Ofric MS Oral Suspension?
Antibiotics generally do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not receive vaccinations until they have recovered from the illness. Vaccinations can be administered once your child feels better.
Is it normal for my child to pass red-brown urine since starting Ofric MS Oral Suspension?
