Introduction

Ofpure OR Oral Suspension is given to your child orally either before or after food. For best results, you must also keep giving ORS (oral rehydration solution) throughout the day. Usually, Ofpure OR Oral Suspension is prescribed two times a day, once in the morning and once at bedtime. However, this dose may vary depending upon your child's symptoms, body weight, and age. So, adhere to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. Repeat the dose if your child vomits within 30 minutes of the intake of Ofpure OR Oral Suspension. However, do not double the dose if it is already time for the next dose.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Ofpure OR Oral Suspension is to be taken with food.

Alcohol Warning

Consuming alcohol while taking Ofpure OR Oral Suspension may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).

Pregnancy Warning

Ofpure OR Oral Suspension may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Ofpure OR Oral Suspension contains three medicines - Ofloxacin, Ornidazole, and Racecadotril. Together, these ingredients prove effective against diarrhea and dysentery. Racecadotril is an enkephalinase inhibitor that has anti-secretory effects. This helps reduce the amount of fluid lost from the body in diarrhea. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and causing infection. Ornidazole is also an antibiotic that kills other microorganisms in addition to bacteria by damaging their DNA.

Take Ofpure OR Oral Suspension with an oral rehydration solution (ORS) to provide adequate fluid and electrolyte replacement Give your child plenty of fluids to replenish water and mineral loss Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help if Ofpure OR Oral Suspension causes an altered taste Do not mix Ofpure OR Oral Suspension along with any other herbal or ayurvedic medicine as it can harm Do not give Ofpure OR Oral Suspension if your child has persistent uncontrolled vomiting as this medicine will not be absorbed
