Introduction

Ofozen M Oral Suspension is prescribed for children to treat various bacterial infections, such as those affecting the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract. It is also used as an empirical antibiotic for infected diarrhea mixed with blood and serious infections like peritonitis. The medication contains a combination of ofloxacin, metronidazole, and simethicone. Ofloxacin and metronidazole are antibiotics that work by impairing the DNA of bacteria, thereby killing them and preventing their growth. Simethicone, on the other hand, helps in the removal of gas, providing relief from stomach pain and bloating. Common side effects include diarrhea and altered taste. It is important to ensure the child drinks plenty of water and avoid giving calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamins, or antacids within 2 hours of taking the medicine.

Never use this medicine for the common cold and flu as they are caused by viruses. Discontinue the medicine and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing.
