Olox OZ Suspension is an antibiotic medicine that is given to children to effectively treat a wide range of bacterial infections that may occur in the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal infections, urinary and genital tract. It is a suspension that contains ofloxacin and ornidazole as its active ingredients. Both these ingredients tamper the bacteria's DNA, killing the infection-causing bacteria and stopping the infection from growing further without making them resistant to further treatment.
Olox OZ Suspension is given to children to treat various bacterial and parasitic infections. It is important to follow the dosage instructions provided by the doctor and not to save the medicine for future illnesses.
Diarrhea is a common side effect. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case it develops. Your child may have an altered taste or furry tongue (coating of Olox OZ Suspension on tongue) after taking Olox OZ Suspension. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you. May cause stomach irritation if consumed with alcohol
Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Olox OZ Suspension as it may irritate your stomach and also cause excessive drowsiness.
Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive.

Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Olox OZ Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Quit giving Olox OZ Suspension and speak to the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Only give Olox OZ Suspension to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
