Oflorose 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in children.
Oral Suspension
Oflorose 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine commonly given to children for the treatment of bacterial infections targeting the eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, skin, abdomen, and urinary tract. It is also part of the multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) treatment regimen.
Do not panic. You can give the medicine as soon as you remember unless your child's doctor has advised a specific regime for your child. In case of any confusion, do consult your doctor. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Oflorose 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic that interferes with the genetic material of bacteria by implanting defects in its DNA. This hampers the multiplication of the bacteria and affects its survival, killing the infection-causing bacteria and preventing the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.
Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Oflorose 50mg Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Discontinue Oflorose 50mg Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Only give Oflorose 50mg Oral Suspension to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
If your child has taken an extra dose of Oflorose 50mg Oral Suspension, it is unlikely to cause harm. However, if you suspect that they have taken too much, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, unconsciousness, and palpitations (irregularities of heartbeat).
If your child does not show any improvement after completing the full course of treatment with Oflorose 50mg Oral Suspension, it is likely that the medicine was ineffective against the infection-causing bacteria. In this case, consult with their doctor who may prescribe a different antibiotic or recommend an alternative treatment plan.
Oflorose 50mg Oral Suspension can interact with other medications or substances. Therefore, it is essential to inform their doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting treatment with Oflorose 50mg Oral Suspension. Additionally, consult with their doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Antibiotics like Oflorose 50mg Oral Suspension usually do not interfere with vaccines or cause a bad reaction in children who have just been vaccinated. However, it is recommended to wait until your child has recovered from the illness before getting vaccinated.
Inform their doctor about any underlying medical conditions in your child, such as heart disease, genetic disorders involving blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photophobia (allergy from sunlight), neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. This is because Oflorose 50mg Oral Suspension may exacerbate these conditions and result in complications.
