Oral Suspension
Introduction
Oflolin-MZ Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine that is effective against a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections. In children, it is used to treat infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract.
Directions for Use
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
How it works
Oflolin-MZ Oral Suspension is an antibiotic having ofloxacin and metronidazole as its active ingredients. Both these medicines damage the DNA of the infection-causing bacteria, thus killing it by stopping its growth. This prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
Quick Tips
If your child develops diarrhea as a side effect, encourage them to drink plenty of water. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help if your child experiences an altered taste. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Oflolin-MZ Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Discontinue Oflolin-MZ Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.

Frequently asked questions
What if I accidentally give my child too much Oflolin-MZ Oral Suspension?
If you suspect an overdose, immediately consult a doctor. Although an extra dose is unlikely to cause harm, it may increase the risk of severe side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, blood cell abnormalities, and rapid and irregular heartbeat. If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical attention promptly.
What should I do if my child shows no improvement after taking Oflolin-MZ Oral Suspension for the prescribed duration?
If your child's condition does not improve, it may indicate that the medicine is not effective against the infection-causing bacteria. In this case, consult your child's doctor, who may prescribe an alternative antibiotic with a more targeted action against the infection-causing bacteria.
Can I give other medicines at the same time as Oflolin-MZ Oral Suspension?
Oflolin-MZ Oral Suspension may interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Oflolin-MZ Oral Suspension, and consult with your child's doctor before giving any additional medication.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Oflolin-MZ Oral Suspension?
Antibiotics typically do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have just been vaccinated. However, it is recommended to wait until your child has recovered from the illness before getting vaccinated.
What should I tell the doctor before giving Oflolin-MZ Oral Suspension to my child?
Inform your doctor if your child has a history of heart disease, genetic disorders involving blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy, neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis, as Oflolin-MZ Oral Suspension may exacerbate these conditions and lead to complications.
