Oflatoz 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine commonly given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections.
Oflatoz 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic. It interferes with the genetic material of bacteria by implanting defects in its DNA. These defects hamper the multiplication of the bacteria and affect its survival as well. Thus, it kills the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.
Do not panic. You can give the medicine as soon as you remember unless your child’s doctor has advised a specific regime for your child. In case of any confusion, do consult your doctor. Do not double the dose to catch up. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Oflatoz 50mg Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Discontinue Oflatoz 50mg Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Giving an extra dose of Oflatoz 50mg Oral Suspension is unlikely to cause serious harm. However, contact a doctor immediately if you think your child might have taken too much. Seek medical attention right away if any of these symptoms occur.
If your child doesn't show signs of improvement after completing the full course of Oflatoz 50mg Oral Suspension, it could mean the medicine isn't working against the bacteria causing the infection. In this case, consult a doctor who may prescribe another antibiotic that is more specific in its action. Some antibiotics are given through injection (IV route) rather than oral administration. Always seek medical advice before changing or starting any medication for your child.

Antibiotics typically do not interfere with vaccines or cause adverse reactions in children who have recently received them. However, your child should not receive vaccinations until they are fully recovered from the illness for which they are being treated with antibiotics. Once their condition has improved, you can proceed with giving them a vaccine.
Inform your doctor if your child has any of the following conditions: heart disease, genetic disorders affecting blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy (allergy from sunlight), neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. These conditions may be exacerbated by Oflatoz 50mg Oral Suspension and could lead to complications.
