Introduction
Ofix Suspension is an antibiotic medicine commonly given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections. It is also part of the multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) treatment regimen. This medicine is used to target the eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, skin, abdomen, and urinary tract.
Directions for Use
Give the medicine as soon as you remember unless your child's doctor has advised a specific regime for your child. Do not double the dose to catch up. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Ofix Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine.
How it works
Ofix Suspension is an antibiotic that interferes with the genetic material of bacteria by implanting defects in its DNA. This hampers the multiplication of the bacteria and affects its survival, killing the infection-causing bacteria and preventing the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.
