Introduction

Ofan 50mg Suspension is an antibiotic medicine commonly given to children for the treatment of bacterial infections targeting various parts of the body. It is also part of the multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) treatment regimen.

Give the medicine as soon as you remember unless your child's doctor has advised a specific regime for your child. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Ofan 50mg Suspension is an antibiotic that interferes with the genetic material of bacteria by implanting defects in its DNA, killing the infection-causing bacteria and preventing the infection from spreading.

Do not panic. You can give the medicine as soon as you remember unless your child's doctor has advised a specific regime for your child. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Ofan 50mg Suspension. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Discontinue Ofan 50mg Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Only give Ofan 50mg Suspension to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
