Frequently asked questions
What is Nurowox 1500mcg Injection?
Nurowox 1500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient needed for the body to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and utilizing vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
You can obtain vitamin B12 from sources like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. Individuals who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may not get enough vitamin B12 as it is not naturally found in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, vitamin B12 deficiency is commonly observed in individuals with restricted diets.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to feelings of tiredness, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormal type of red blood cell). It can also cause nerve problems such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include difficulty with balance, depression, confusion, dementia, memory impairment, sore mouth or tongue.
Is Nurowox 1500mcg Injection safe?
Nurowox 1500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, in rare cases, side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and rashes may occur. Discontinue use immediately if a rash develops.
How should Nurowox 1500mcg Injection be given?
Nurowox 1500mcg Injection can be injected directly into a vein (intravenously) or into a muscle (intramuscularly). The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Nurowox 1500mcg Injection), and it is typically administered three times per week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Nurowox 1500mcg Injection) is given every one to three months for maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken while administering Nurowox 1500mcg Injection?
When injecting, avoid using the same site each time. If you experience intense pain or blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert at a different site.
