Why can't I get enough vitamin B12 through my diet?
You may not get enough vitamin B12 from your diet if you are vegetarian or vegan. These diets don't naturally contain vitamin B12, which is found in animal products like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy. Therefore, people who follow these diets may experience a deficiency of vitamin B12.
What happens if I have a deficiency in vitamin B12?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause tiredness and weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an enlarged red blood cell count).
