Nurofens 1500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12 that restores its level in the body thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems.
Nurofens 1500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient needed by the body for producing red blood cells and maintaining a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and utilizing vitamin B11 (folic acid).
You may find it challenging to obtain adequate vitamin B12 from diet. Sources of vitamin B12 include meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, vegetarians or vegans may struggle to get vitamin B12 as it is not naturally found in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, deficiency of vitamin B12 is often observed in individuals following vegetarian or vegan diets.
A deficiency in vitamin B12 may lead to tiredness and weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become abnormally large). This can also manifest as nerve problems such as numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, difficulty remembering things, soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Nurofens 1500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, it's essential to be aware that in rare cases, side effects may occur such as nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and rash. If you experience a rash while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately.
Nurofens 1500mcg Injection can be administered intravenously or intramuscularly. The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Nurofens 1500mcg Injection) and it's given three times a week initially. After two months, a single dose every one to three months may be prescribed as part of maintenance therapy.
It's crucial to inject Nurofens 1500mcg Injection at a different site each time. If you experience intense pain during the injection or notice blood flowing back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert it at another location.
