Nurimed 1500 Injection is a form of vitamin B12 that restores its level in the body thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems.
Nurimed 1500 Injection helps replenish vitamin B12 level in your body. This further helps in regeneration of damaged nerves in the body. Avoid or limit alcohol consumption while taking this medication.
Nurimed 1500 Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 plays a vital role in producing red blood cells and maintaining a healthy nervous system. It also helps release energy from food and the use of vitamin B11 (folic acid).
You can get vitamin B12 primarily from meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. Individuals who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may not naturally obtain sufficient amounts of vitamin B12 as it is not found in plant-based foods like fruits, vegetables, and grains. Consequently, vegetarians or vegans are more prone to experiencing vitamin B12 deficiency.
A lack of vitamin B12 can lead to symptoms such as fatigue and weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormal increase in red blood cells). It may also cause nerve problems like numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other potential signs of deficiency include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness in the mouth or tongue.
Nurimed 1500 Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, it's important to note that some individuals may experience rare side effects, including nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash. If a rash develops during or after taking this medication, discontinue use immediately.
Nurimed 1500 Injection can be administered intravenously (into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The typical dose is one ampoule containing 0.5 mg of Nurimed 1500 Injection, given three times weekly. After two months, the dosage becomes once every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
Avoid injecting the medication at the same site repeatedly. If you experience intense pain during injection or observe blood flowing back into the syringe, remove the needle and try a different injection site.
