Frequently asked questions
What is Nuerosha 500mcg Injection?
Nuerosha 500mcg Injection contains Vitamin B12, an essential nutrient that the body needs to produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can’t I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
Vitamin B12 is found naturally in animal products like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy. Vegetarians or vegans may not get enough Vitamin B12 because it's not naturally found in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, deficiency is more common in vegetarians or vegans.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause tiredness, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (when red blood cells become abnormally large). It can also lead to nerve problems like numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, memory problems, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Is Nuerosha 500mcg Injection safe?
Nuerosha 500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated. However, rare side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash have been reported. Discontinue the injection if a rash occurs.
How should Nuerosha 500mcg Injection be given?
Nuerosha 500mcg Injection can be injected into a vein (intravenously) or muscle (intramuscularly). The typical dosage is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Nuerosha 500mcg Injection), and it's given three times a week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Nuerosha 500mcg Injection) can be given every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken while administering Nuerosha 500mcg Injection?
Do not inject the medication in the same spot every time. If there is intense pain during injection or if blood returns to the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert at a different site.
