NP.IN DS Oral Suspension is a widely prescribed medicine that helps to ease pain and bring down high body temperature (fever). In children, it treats conditions like headache, toothache, body ache, fever, and common cold.
Give NP.IN DS Oral Suspension to your child with food or milk to prevent an upset stomach. Your child should not take more than four doses of this medicine in 24 hours, so wait up to 6 hours between doses. Never give any other medicine formulation containing paracetamol along with this medicine as that may lead to serious side effects. Inform the doctor if your child has liver disease as the dose may need to be adjusted. If NP.IN DS Oral Suspension does not seem to be helping your child, contact your doctor for advice. Do not give extra doses.
NP.IN DS Oral Suspension possesses analgesic (pain-reliever) and antipyretic (lowers body temperature) properties. It provides relief by blocking certain chemical messengers and pathways in the brain that send signals about pain and fever.

Always follow your doctor's instructions regarding dosage and administration frequency for your child, as these are determined by the strength of the medication and age. Refer to the label or leaflet provided with the medicine packaging for additional details and guidance. The commonly recommended dose is 10-15 mg/kg per dose every 4 to 6 hours.
NP.IN DS Oral Suspension usually starts working within 30 to 60 minutes of intake and shows its peak effect within 3 to 4 hours. Your child may start feeling better after a few doses. However, if the pain or fever persists longer, consult your child's doctor immediately.
You can give this medicine if your child has a temperature of 38.3°C (101°F) or higher. However, it is always recommended to consult with your doctor first.
If the fever doesn't come down after the initial doses, the cause might be an infection (virus or bacteria). In such a case, consulting your doctor for appropriate treatment is crucial.
You should only take four doses of NP.IN DS Oral Suspension in 24 hours. There must be a minimum gap of 4-6 hours between two doses and avoid taking it for more than 3 days without consulting your doctor. More than 250 mg/kg can lead to toxicity, which may pose a severe threat to the liver and kidneys. Inform your child’s doctor immediately if you believe they have administered an excess amount of the medication.
Unless instructed by your doctor, your child should maintain a normal balanced diet as prescribed. Neglecting nutrition can potentially put your child at risk for developing medicinal toxicity.
Store this medication in a cool, dry location, away from children’s reach. Keep it out of direct sunlight and humidity.
It is advisable to use NP.IN DS Oral Suspension with caution if your child has malnutrition, G6PD deficiency, liver disease, or any medicinal allergies. Ensure you provide your doctor with complete details about your child's medical history for proper evaluation and dosage recommendations.
NP.IN DS Oral Suspension does not usually interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause adverse reactions in children who have recently received vaccinations. However, it's best to wait until your child recovers from the ongoing illness and completes their medication before administering any further doses.
