Recombinant follicle stimulating hormone (300IU)
Newmon R 300IU Injection is used in the treatment of infertility in women and male hypogonadism. It works by releasing eggs from the ovary in women and increasing testosterone levels in men.
Injection
Newmon R 300IU Injection is given as an injection under the supervision of a doctor. Your doctor will decide the right time to take the injection so always follow your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self-administer.
Newmon R 300IU Injection is a hormone. In females, it works by stimulating the release of estrogen which helps in the growth and development of the egg before release. In males, it helps in the production of sperms.
Inform your doctor immediately if you have severe pelvic pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sudden weight gain, trouble breathing, or decreased or no urination during treatment, as these could be symptoms of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). Do not use Newmon R 300IU Injection if you are already pregnant or breastfeeding. Newmon R 300IU Injection stimulates the production of eggs in women undergoing treatment for infertility. Pregnancy following treatment with Newmon R 300IU Injection is more likely to result in a multiple pregnancy (twins or more).
Newmon R 300IU Injection contains Follitropin alfa, a type of Follicle Stimulating Hormone naturally produced by the body. It is used to stimulate ovulation in women who are unable to ovulate, and also in assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures such as in-vitro fertilization (IVF) to help women become pregnant. Additionally, it may be used in adult men with infertility due to hormonal imbalances and low sperm count.
Newmon R 300IU Injection is administered as a subcutaneous injection. The dose and treatment duration are determined based on the patient's ovarian response.
It is recommended to avoid missing a dose of Newmon R 300IU Injection. If you do miss a dose, consult with your doctor as soon as possible.
Common side effects of Newmon R 300IU Injection include local site reactions at the injection site (pain, redness, swelling, and irritation), headaches, ovarian cysts, abdominal pain or cramping, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and bloating. In rare cases, this medicine may increase the risk of conditions such as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), multiple pregnancy, or miscarriage. If you experience any of these side effects, consult with your doctor.
