New Zephrol Cold Syrup is a combination of four medicines: Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Phenylephrine, Paracetamol, and Sodium Citrate. It relieves symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, watery eyes, sore throat, body ache, and fever. This medication is commonly prescribed in children to treat these symptoms.
New Zephrol Cold Syrup may make your child feel sleepy. Ensure your child takes extra care when taking part in physical activities.
New Zephrol Cold Syrup is a combination of four medicines: Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Phenylephrine, Paracetamol, and Sodium Citrate. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic that relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer). Sodium citrate is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out.
Ensure your child takes extra care when taking part in physical activities Never combine New Zephrol Cold Syrup with other cold and flu medicines as that may lead to side effects Stop New Zephrol Cold Syrup and immediately report to the doctor if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties Practice self-care tips: clean and disinfect surfaces after sneezing and coughing, give your child plenty of fluids, restrain your child from having caffeinated products and foods that are spicy and fried, make your child gargle with warm saltwater, and ensure your child takes enough rest
If your child takes more than the prescribed dose of New Zephrol Cold Syrup, they may experience serious side effects such as seizures, rapid heart rate, depression, cognition defects, and inability to concentrate. To ensure accurate dosing, use the calibrated cup provided with the medicine by the manufacturer instead of a kitchen teaspoon.
New Zephrol Cold Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. Before administering this syrup, inform your child's doctor about any other medications they are taking.
Do not give New Zephrol Cold Syrup if your child has a history of cardiovascular disease (hypertension, heart disease), diabetes mellitus, gastrointestinal obstruction, increased intraocular pressure, urinary obstruction, or thyroid dysfunction. Inform their doctor about any medical conditions before administering this syrup.
Do not administer more than one cough or cold medicine to your child at a time unless advised by the doctor, as this could lead to an overdose and serious consequences. Consult their doctor before giving any medication.
