Frequently asked questions
What is Neurozest 1500mcg Injection?
Neurozest 1500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that helps the body make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It is also important for releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
You can obtain Vitamin B12 from sources like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. People who are vegetarian or vegan may not get enough Vitamin B12 as it is not naturally found in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, a deficiency of Vitamin B12 is commonly noticed in vegetarians or vegans.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency may cause fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become larger than normal). It can also lead to nerve problems such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency include balance problems, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Is Neurozest 1500mcg Injection safe?
Neurozest 1500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, in rare cases, side effects may occur, such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash. Discontinue using this medicine immediately if you experience a rash.
How should Neurozest 1500mcg Injection be given?
Neurozest 1500mcg Injection can be injected directly into a vein (intravenously) or into a muscle (intramuscularly). The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Neurozest 1500mcg Injection), and it is given three times per week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Neurozest 1500mcg Injection) is given every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
