Frequently asked questions
What is Neuropye 1500 Injection?
Neuropye 1500 Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required by the body to produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in energy release and using vitamin B11 (folate).
Why can’t I get sufficient vitamin B12 through my diet?
You can obtain vitamin B12 from sources like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, vegetarians and vegans may not get sufficient vitamin B12 because it is not naturally found in fruits, vegetables, or grains. Therefore, deficiency in vitamin B12 is often seen in vegetarians and vegans.
What happens if I have a vitamin B12 deficiency?
A lack of vitamin B12 can lead to tiredness, weakness, constipation, decreased appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormal increase in red blood cells). It may also cause nerve problems like numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms may include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, memory impairment, soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Is Neuropye 1500 Injection safe?
Neuropye 1500 Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash have been reported. Stop using this medication immediately if you experience a rash.
How should Neuropye 1500 Injection be administered?
Neuropye 1500 Injection can be given either intravenously or intramuscularly. The typical dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Neuropye 1500 Injection) and it's administered three times a week. After two months, follow up with 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Neuropye 1500 Injection) every one to three months for maintenance therapy.
What precautions must be taken while administering Neuropye 1500 Injection?
Avoid injecting at the same site repeatedly. If experiencing intense pain during injection or backflow of blood into the syringe, remove the needle and inject at a different location.
