Frequently asked questions
What is Neurolyten 2500mcg Injection?
Neurolyten 2500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required by the body to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can’t I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
You can obtain vitamin B12 from sources like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. Individuals who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may have difficulty getting enough vitamin B12 as it is not naturally present in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, vitamin B12 deficiency is often observed in vegetarians and vegans.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency may lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormal condition of red blood cells). It can also cause nerve problems such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency include balance problems, depression, confusion, dementia, memory impairment, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Is Neurolyten 2500mcg Injection safe?
Neurolyten 2500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, in rare cases, side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or rash may occur. If a rash develops, discontinue use of the medication immediately.
