Neurolic 1500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required by the body to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
You can obtain vitamin B12 from sources such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, people who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may not get adequate vitamin B12 as it is not naturally present in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, deficiency of vitamin B12 is commonly observed in individuals following these diets.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells are abnormally large). Additionally, it can cause nerve problems such as numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include balance problems, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness in the mouth or tongue.
Neurolic 1500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash may occur. In case of a rash, discontinue the medication immediately.
Neurolic 1500mcg Injection can be administered directly into a vein (intravenously) or muscle (intramuscularly). The standard dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Neurolic 1500mcg Injection), administered three times per week. After two months, one ampoule (0.5 mg of Neurolic 1500mcg Injection) is given every one to three months as part of ongoing maintenance therapy.
Avoid injecting the medication in the same spot repeatedly. If intense pain occurs during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert it at a different site.
