Frequently asked questions
What is Neurogrey 2500mcg Injection?
Neurogrey 2500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12, an essential nutrient for the body to produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also aids in releasing energy from food and utilizing vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
Vitamin B12 is primarily found in animal-based foods like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. Individuals who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may not obtain adequate vitamin B12 as it's not naturally present in plant-based sources like fruits, vegetables, and grains.
What happens if I have a vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormal size increase in red blood cells). It can also cause nerve problems like numbness or tingling in hands and feet. Other symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness in the mouth or tongue.
Is Neurogrey 2500mcg Injection safe?
Neurogrey 2500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, some individuals may experience rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia (loss of appetite), and rash. If a rash occurs during or after administration, discontinue use immediately.
How should Neurogrey 2500mcg Injection be given?
Neurogrey 2500mcg Injection can be administered intravenously (directly into the vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The usual dosage is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Neurogrey 2500mcg Injection), given 3 times per week. After 2 months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Neurogrey 2500mcg Injection) is administered every one to three months as a part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions should be taken when administering Neurogrey 2500mcg Injection?
It is recommended not to inject in the same location each time. If experiencing intense pain during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert at a different site.
