Frequently asked questions
What is Nervibur 1500mcg Injection?
Nervibur 1500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required by the body to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
You can obtain vitamin B12 from sources such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, individuals who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may have difficulty obtaining this vitamin naturally, as it is not found in fruits, vegetables, and grains. This may lead to a deficiency of vitamin B12 in these individuals.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
A deficiency of vitamin B12 can cause symptoms such as tiredness and weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become larger than normal), nerve problems like numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other possible symptoms include balance problems, depression, confusion, dementia, impaired memory, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Is Nervibur 1500mcg Injection safe?
Nervibur 1500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or rash have been reported in some individuals. Discontinue use of this medication if you experience a rash.
How should Nervibur 1500mcg Injection be given?
Nervibur 1500mcg Injection can be administered intravenously (directly into the vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The usual dosage is 1 ampoule (containing 0.5 mg of Nervibur 1500mcg injection), and it should be given three times a week. After two months, one ampoule (0.5 mg of Nervibur 1500mcg injection) is administered every one to three months for maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken when administering Nervibur 1500mcg Injection?
When administering the injection, avoid injecting at the same site each time. If intense pain or blood flow back into the syringe occurs, remove the needle and re-insert at a different site.
