Frequently asked questions
What is Nerocare-Forte Injection?
Nerocare-Forte Injection is a solution containing vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that helps the body produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folate).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
Vitamin B12 is primarily found in meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. Individuals who are vegetarian or vegan may lack sufficient vitamin B12 as it's not naturally present in plant-based foods like fruits, vegetables, and grains. This can lead to a deficiency.
What happens if I have a vitamin B12 deficiency?
A vitamin B12 deficiency can cause symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become larger than normal). It can also lead to nerve problems including numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other potential signs include issues with balance, depression, confusion, memory impairment, sore mouth, or tongue.
Is Nerocare-Forte Injection safe?
Nerocare-Forte Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe for use. However, some individuals may experience rare side effects like nausea, diarrhea, or an upset stomach. If you encounter a rash while taking this medication, stop using the injection immediately.
How should Nerocare-Forte Injection be administered?
Nerocare-Forte Injection can be injected intravenously (into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The usual dosage is one ampoule (containing 0.5 mg of Nerocare-Forte Injection), and it's administered three times a week. After two months, you may need to take one ampoule (0.5 mg of Nerocare-Forte Injection) every one to three months for maintenance.
What precautions should be taken when administering Nerocare-Forte Injection?
When injecting the medication, avoid repeating injections at the same site each time. If you experience severe pain while injecting or blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and try a different injection site.
