Introduction
Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Directions for Use
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
How it works
Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.
Quick Tips
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not give Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses. Check ‘expiry’ before giving Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup to your child. Immediately discard all the expired medicines.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be administered simultaneously with Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup?
It's essential to consult your child's doctor before administering any additional medications alongside Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup. Some medications can interact, potentially leading to unwanted side effects or reduced efficacy of both.
Can I receive vaccinations during the course of treatment with Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup?
Generally, antibiotics are not likely to interfere with common vaccines. However, it's essential to ensure your child fully recovers from their illness before receiving any additional vaccination. Once your child is feeling better, a vaccine can be administered as recommended by the healthcare provider.
Are specific lab tests necessary during long-term treatment with Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup?
Periodic kidney and liver function tests may be performed periodically to monitor your child's health condition when using this medication for prolonged periods.
Can I administer a higher dose of Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup to my child than the recommended amount?
No, exceeding the prescribed dosage of Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup can increase the likelihood of undesirable side effects. If your child experiences any worsening symptoms, please consult their doctor for further evaluation.
Can I stop giving Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms subside?
Absolutely not! It's crucial to continue administering the medication as prescribed even after symptom improvement. The medicine may be providing beneficial effects during this period, so it's important to complete the entire course.
Can Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup trigger diarrhea in my child?
Yes, Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup might cause diarrhea. This is because it is an antibiotic that targets harmful bacteria. Moreover, it can impact the natural bacteria in your child's stomach leading to diarrhea. Encourage hydration by providing plenty of water or other fluids if they experience diarrhea. If diarrhea persists and you observe signs of dehydration like infrequent urination with dark-colored and strong-smelling urine, consult a doctor before administering any additional medication.
Does the use of Nemoxy CV Dry Syrup inevitably lead to secondary bacterial infections?
Most commonly, bacterial infections don't follow viral ones. In fact, using antibiotics in viral infections can increase your child's risk of developing side effects. It is recommended to consult a doctor for any prescribed antibiotic.
Is there any sign indicating my child may require immediate medical attention?
You should call your child's doctor immediately if they experience allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, skin rashes), severe gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea), or evidence of liver damage (weakness, pale complexion, vomiting). These are serious side effects and need immediate expert intervention.
