Frequently asked questions
Does Natadrops cause cancer?
No, there is no evidence indicating that Natadrops causes cancer.
Where does Natadrops come from?
Natadrops is a tetraene polyene antibiotic derived from Streptomyces natalensis.
How does Natadrops work?
Natadrops belongs to the class of medicines called tetraene polyene antibiotics. It binds to the fungal cell wall, alters the permeability of the cell wall, and causes depletion of cellular contents. This subsequently reduces growth and proliferation of fungi.
Why does Natadrops not affect bacteria?
The mechanism of action of Natadrops involves binding to the sterol moiety of the fungal cell membrane. Bacteria have different cell wall structures than fungi, which do not contain sterols, therefore, it does not affect bacterial growth.
