Giving Nastron 2mg Syrup just before the procedure helps block the effect of this chemical on vomiting centers of the brain and prevents vomiting.

Frequently asked questions
What is Nastron 2mg Syrup used for?
Nastron 2mg Syrup is typically administered before major surgical procedures or chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions. Additionally, it is effective in treating vomiting associated with stomach diseases, where a doctor may prescribe it for a few days to address symptoms.
What if my child takes too much Nastron 2mg Syrup?
Nastron 2mg Syrup is unlikely to cause harm if an extra dose is accidentally given. However, immediately informing your child's doctor is crucial. Excessive intake can lead to serious side effects, such as excessive drowsiness, agitation, a rapid heartbeat, hypertension, flushing, dilated pupils, sweating, involuntary muscle jerks, uncontrolled eye movements, overactive reflexes, and seizures. These symptoms collectively indicate serotonin syndrome. If any of these occur, seek medical attention immediately.
How should Nastron 2mg Syrup be stored?
Nastron 2mg Syrup should be kept at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. It's important to store all medications out of reach and sight of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
What all medicines should my child avoid while taking Nastron 2mg Syrup?
Generally, Nastron 2mg Syrup is not recommended when administered with antidepressants, apomorphine, anti-migraine drugs, painkillers, heart medications, or antibiotics like linezolid. However, it's vital to discuss your child’s complete medical history with their doctor before making any conclusions. Seek guidance from the doctor for personalized advice.
In what conditions do I need to call my child’s doctor right away?
Call your child's doctor immediately if they experience symptoms of serotonin syndrome, including irregular heartbeat, green-colored vomiting, inability to pass gas, pale skin and eyes, dark-colored urine, restlessness, or insomnia.
My child is having a migraine and is on medication. Can I give Nastron 2mg Syrup along with it?
It's not recommended to combine Nastron 2mg Syrup with medications for depression or migraines due to the potential risk of serotonin syndrome. Always consult your child’s doctor before giving them any medicine.
