It is a nasal decongestant that helps in opening up the nasal passages by reducing excessive nasal secretions and also reducing the swelling in the blood vessels in the inner surface of the nose. This provides temporary relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
Use Nasolin 0.05% Nasal Drops as directed by your doctor. Do not give more than the recommended dose as it can lead to side effects. Do not use it more than 3 times a day. Do not administer Nasolin 0.05% Nasal Drops to your child for more than 10 consecutive days, as it may lead to complications such as "atrophic rhinitis". It is important to follow the prescribed dosing schedule and avoid stopping the medicine abruptly, as this may cause "rebound congestion" in your child.
Overdosing on Nasolin 0.05% Nasal Drops can cause dizziness, sweating, a low body temperature, headache, bradycardia (low heart rate), hypertension, respiratory depression, coma, and convulsions. Additionally, children are more sensitive to toxicity than adults. Therefore, it is crucial to contact your child's doctor immediately if this happens.
Before using Nasolin 0.05% Nasal Drops, instruct your child to clear their nose by blowing gently. Have your child lie down and tilt their head back as far as comfortable. If lying on a bed, keep the head over the side. Open the cap of the medicine container and without touching the nozzle to the nose, apply the medication into each nostril. After applying the drops, keep the head tilted back for a short time to allow the drops to spread throughout the nose. Replace the cap immediately after use. If any drop misses the nose, administer the drop again. If any part of the drop gets into the nose, do not administer the drop again. Clean and dry the nozzle before replacing the cap immediately.
Call your child's doctor if they experience signs of insomnia, dizziness, tremors, irregular heartbeat, or elevated blood pressure after using Nasolin 0.05% Nasal Drops.
Nasolin 0.05% Nasal Drops can interact with other medicines or substances. Before starting Nasolin 0.05% Nasal Drops, inform your doctor about any other medications your child is taking and consult them before giving any new medicine to your child.
To help with mucus drainage when the child has a stuffy nose, put your child to sleep on their back. Use a pillow for support.
