Nasiwar Cold Suspension is a medication used to treat symptoms of common cold, hay fever, and other respiratory tract conditions in children.
Suspension
Nasiwar Cold Suspension is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, watery eyes, sore throat, body ache, and fever. These symptoms are usually associated with common cold, hay fever (allergic rhinitis), and other respiratory tract conditions.
Nasiwar Cold Suspension may make your child feel sleepy. Ensure your child takes extra care when taking part in physical activities.
Nasiwar Cold Suspension is a combination of four medicines: Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Phenylephrine, Paracetamol, and Sodium Citrate, which relieves common cold symptoms. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic that relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer). Sodium citrate is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out.
Ensure your child takes extra care when taking part in physical activities Never combine Nasiwar Cold Suspension with other cold and flu medicines as that may lead to side effects Stop Nasiwar Cold Suspension and immediately report to the doctor if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties Practice self-care tips: clean and disinfect surfaces after sneezing and coughing, give your child plenty of fluids, restrain your child from having caffeinated products and foods that are spicy and fried, make your child gargle with warm saltwater, and ensure your child takes enough rest
Giving too much Nasiwar Cold Suspension can lead to serious side effects, including seizures, rapid heartbeat, depression, cognitive defects, and difficulty concentrating. Always use the calibrated cup provided with the medicine to ensure the correct dose.
Nasiwar Cold Suspension may interact with other medications or substances. Inform your child's doctor about any other medicines they are taking before starting Nasiwar Cold Suspension, and check with their doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Avoid giving Nasiwar Cold Suspension if your child has a history of cardiovascular disease (hypertension, heart disease), diabetes mellitus, gastrointestinal obstruction, increased intraocular pressure, urinary obstruction, or thyroid dysfunction. Inform their doctor about their medical history before administering the medicine.
Never give your child medicines formulated for adults. Instead, provide them with medications specifically designed for children. Always check the label properly and follow the prescribed dose instructions.
Nasiwar Cold Suspension may cause mild drowsiness. However, avoid giving it to induce sleep, as this could mask underlying sleep disorders like insomnia. Consult your child's doctor before administering the medicine.
Store Nasiwar Cold Suspension at room temperature in a dry place away from direct heat and light. Keep all medicines out of children's reach to avoid accidental intake.
