How it works

Myzole 1% Dusting Powder is an antifungal medication which treats skin infections. It works by killing the fungi on the skin by destroying their cell membrane.

Quick Tips

Keep your feet clean and dry, particularly between the toes. Cut your nails short and prefer open-toe shoes for everyday use. Keep your vagina clean and dry. Use a separate clean towel for the infected area. Take a shower with antifungal soap after gyming or severe sweating. Never share your socks, shoes, and towel with others. Apply a sufficient amount to cover the affected area and 1 inch of the immediate surrounding skin. Avoid getting it in the eyes, nose, or mouth. Frequently asked questions

What is Myzole 1% Dusting Powder used for?

Myzole 1% Dusting Powder is an antifungal medicine. It is used to treat fungal skin infections such as ringworm (a fungal skin infection causing a red scaly rash on different parts of the body), athlete’s foot, and nappy rash. It is also used to relieve irritation of the vulva (external thrush) and the end of the penis which may be associated with thrush.

Myzole 1% Dusting Powder is effective against which fungi?

Myzole 1% Dusting Powder is effective against Trichophyton species, a type of fungus that causes ringworm infection, athlete’s foot, and jock itch. It is also effective against Candida, a yeast commonly responsible for vaginal thrush (infection caused by an overgrowth of the yeast called Candida albicans).

I have started using Myzole 1% Dusting Powder. By when can I expect to start seeing improvements?

Symptoms like itching or soreness should improve within a few days of treatment. However, signs such as redness and scaling may take longer to disappear. Do not stop applying this medicine before the duration advised by your doctor, even if you feel better.

What precautions are necessary while applying Myzole 1% Dusting Powder?

Always wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying Myzole 1% Dusting Powder. If using the cream for an infected foot, thoroughly wash and dry your feet before applying it, especially between the toes, before application.

For how long should I apply Myzole 1% Dusting Powder? Can I stop if the symptoms have completely disappeared?

The duration of treatment depends on the type of infection. In general, treatment is continued for one month for tinea infections and at least 15 days for Candida infections. Do not stop the treatment on your own even if you feel better because it takes time to kill the fungus.

Is Myzole 1% Dusting Powder safe to use in children?

Myzole 1% Dusting Powder is safe for children only if given as directed by a doctor. It should be administered at the correct dosage only for the prescribed duration. Minor side effects may occur but are usually not bothersome.

Are there any measures that should be taken to help a faster recovery?

Keep the affected skin area clean and dry but avoid excessive rubbing. You may feel the urge to scratch due to itchiness; however, avoiding scratching helps protect the skin from further irritation. Do not share towels, bath mats, or clothing with others as it can spread the infection.

Does Myzole 1% Dusting Powder affect contraception?

Myzole 1% Dusting Powder may reduce the effectiveness of rubber contraceptives like diaphragms and condoms. If using the cream on the vulva or penis, use alternative contraceptive methods for at least five days after application.
