Mpx-CV Forte Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Most viral colds do not develop into a secondary bacterial infection. Antibiotics are typically not necessary for treating these conditions, as the body usually fights off the virus and resolves on its own.
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily indicate a bacterial infection, which is common during a cold. It is typical for mucus to change color as your child gets better. If the symptoms last longer than 7-10 days, it's important to see your doctor.
Call your child’s doctor immediately if they experience severe allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, skin rashes), gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea), or liver problems (weakness, paleness, vomiting). These are rare but serious side effects requiring prompt medical care.
