Oral Suspension
Moxiport-CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
Moxiport-CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Moxiport-CV Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not give Moxiport-CV Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses. Check ‘expiry’ before giving Moxiport-CV Dry Syrup to your child. Antibiotics usually do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have just been vaccinated. However, it's recommended to wait until your child has recovered from the illness before getting vaccinated.
Prolonged therapy with Moxiport-CV Dry Syrup may require periodic monitoring of kidney and liver function tests to ensure your child's condition remains stable.
Giving a higher-than-recommended dose can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences increased severity of symptoms, consult with their doctor for re-evaluation.
Do not discontinue Moxiport-CV Dry Syrup unless the full course of treatment is complete, even if your child's symptoms improve. Continue administering the medication as directed for the prescribed duration.
Yes, Moxiport-CV Dry Syrup may cause diarrhea due to its antibiotic properties affecting helpful bacteria in your child's stomach. Encourage plenty of fluids and consult with a doctor if diarrhea persists or signs of dehydration occur.
Most often, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. Consult with your child's doctor before using antibiotics for viral infections to avoid potential side effects.
Yellow or green mucus does not necessarily indicate the need for antibiotics, as it can be normal during a common cold. Symptoms often last 7-10 days.
Seek immediate medical attention if your child experiences serious allergic reactions (breathing problems, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting). These side effects are rare but require prompt expert attention.
