How it works
Moxikind-CV Forte Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medications be taken simultaneously with Moxikind-CV Forte Dry Syrup?
Moxikind-CV Forte Dry Syrup may interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your child's doctor about any other medications your child is taking before starting Moxikind-CV Forte Dry Syrup. Additionally, consult your child's doctor before administering any medication to your child.
Can vaccinations be given while on treatment with Moxikind-CV Forte Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics generally do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not receive vaccinations until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be administered.
Which laboratory tests may be performed on a long-term basis while taking Moxikind-CV Forte Dry Syrup?
Prolonged therapy may involve monitoring kidney and liver function tests periodically to assess your child's condition.
Can a higher dose of Moxikind-CV Forte Dry Syrup than recommended be given to my child?
No, administering a higher dose of this medication can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences increased severity of symptoms, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
Can I stop giving Moxikind-CV Forte Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms improve?
No, do not discontinue administering this medication unless the full course of treatment is complete, even if symptoms have improved. Symptoms may appear to resolve before the infection is fully cleared. Continue administering the medication for the prescribed duration as it may still provide beneficial effects.
Can Moxikind-CV Forte Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Moxikind-CV Forte Dry Syrup may cause diarrhea due to its antibacterial properties, which can also affect the helpful bacteria in your child's stomach. If diarrhea occurs, encourage your child to drink plenty of water or other fluids. Consult a doctor if diarrhea persists and signs of dehydration are present, such as reduced urine frequency with dark-colored and strong-smelling urine. Do not give any additional medication without consulting a doctor.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infections?
Most often, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. In fact, administering antibiotics in the case of a viral infection can increase the risk of side effects. Use antibiotics only after consulting with your child's doctor.
Is yellow or green mucus in the nose an indication of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily require antibiotic treatment. During a common cold, it is normal for mucus to thicken and change color; symptoms often last 7-10 days.
What signs indicate that my child needs immediate medical attention?
Seek immediate medical attention if your child experiences severe allergic reactions (breathing difficulties, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting). Though rare, these side effects are serious and require prompt medical attention.
