Introduction
Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Directions for Use
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
How it works
Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.
Quick Tips
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Your child may have a bitter taste in the mouth after the intake of Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not give Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses. Never save medicine for future illnesses. Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup?
Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup may interact with other medications. Always tell your child's doctor about all other medicines they are taking before starting Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup. It is also important to consult with a medical professional before giving any medicine to your child, as they can provide appropriate guidance for safe and effective treatment.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup?
Generally, antibiotics do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause a negative reaction in children who have recently received one. However, it's important to note that vaccinations should be postponed until your child is fully recovered from the illness, unless advised otherwise by their doctor.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Regular kidney and liver function tests may be conducted periodically during prolonged therapy, as part of routine monitoring of your child's condition.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup to my child?
Giving a higher than recommended dose of this medicine can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences worsening symptoms, consult with their doctor for re-evaluation.
Can I stop giving Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
No, do not stop giving this medicine until the full course of treatment is completed. Symptoms may improve before the infection is fully cured. Continue the medication for the prescribed duration as there might still be beneficial effects.
Can the use of Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Moxiclip Forte Dry Syrup can sometimes lead to diarrhea due to its antibiotic nature, which can affect beneficial bacteria in the stomach. Encourage your child to drink fluids if experiencing diarrhea and consult a doctor if it persists or there are signs of dehydration such as infrequent urination with dark-colored urine.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most viral common colds do not lead to bacterial infections. In fact, antibiotics should only be used after consulting a doctor and following their advice.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose isn't always a sign of a bacterial infection and doesn't necessarily indicate antibiotic usage. During common colds, mucus tends to thicken and change color from clear to yellow or green. Typical symptom duration is 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
Seek immediate medical attention if your child experiences serious allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea) and signs of liver damage (weakness, pallor, vomiting). While rare, these side effects are significant and require immediate expert care.
